Talk To The Hand! I'm Not Trying That!

So, we all know that kids can be picky when it comes to trying new foods, but there are some kids that are super duper picky!! One of those kiddos would be my son, Jack.  Yep, he's a picky one.  Doesn't try anything without a fight.  And he really puts his hand up and turns his head like the picture below.

Are you crazy?? I'm not trying that!

Life certainly has it's challenges! And Jack not eating vegetables or meats is mine!  If he ate vegetables, I would be perfectly fine, I could go without the meat.  My concern is Jack getting his iron that he needs.  When Jack was first diagnosed with celiac disease, he was also mildly anemic.  Since then, I've always been concerned about his iron intake.  I substitute with a multivitamin, hoping that helps with getting the iron and minerals he needs, but it's just not the same as eating greens.  In a previous post, I mentioned that I wanted Jack to try broccoli and he said, "No, it has gluten in it." So that's what I'm workin' with! Lil' Rascal...

So in the meantime, here's a few things I plan do to encourage vegetable eating:
  1. Pray about it - "Lord please encourage my son to eat his vegetables and listen to his mother." :)
  2. Become best friends with the Sneaky Chef and have her come over and make sneaky gluten-free recipes
  3. Try putting cheese on all vegetables maybe chocolate syrup as well
  4. Bottom line - Just keep trying...
One day Jack, you will understand the importance of eating your vegetables - one day my son, you will cave and the vegetable will conquer! :)
