Last year I went to the Expo (check out my blog post here) by myself, but this year, I feel like my kids are old enough to walk the Vendor Fair w/ us. **They do not allow strollers in the expo, which makes sense, they take up a lot of room and block vendor tables. I encourage taking children (if they are old enough to walk) to these events especially if you are wanting them to try new GF food options. It's so nice to be able to sample foods before buying them! I've bought numerous GF items that have been wasted because Jack didn't like them - so thank you for this opportunity to sample freebies!
Besides the Vendor Fair, there are cooking classes also available. Last year I attended cooking sessions on Saturday and I went to the Vendor Fair on Sunday. The cooking classes were enjoyable and it was helpful listening to the presenters give their tips on baking and cooking gluten-free. One of the cooking sessions I went to was with Stephanie O'Dea - she is the author of the best selling book "Make It Fast, Cook It Slow" - the best part - all the crockpot dishes are GLUTEN-FREE! So that was very inspiring!
This year, I won't be attending any cooking classes due to the fact that my children will be with me, but I would encourage you to check out the classes being offered to see if there is something of interest to you.
If you haven't been to a Gluten-Free Expo yet, I would encourage you to attend this one. I have nothing but good things to say about my first experience. Check out this link for a quick Q&A about the Expo. BTW, Chicago is a fabulous city to visit so keep that in mind as well! :) We are hoping to extend our weekend to visit the Shedd Aquarium!
Well my friends, there you have it - can you tell I'm excited about this upcoming Expo?! :)
I hope you all can make it! See you at the Expo!

I'm so glad you're going to attend as a family! I wish travel was in our budget; I'd love to have the kids join forces in sample-tasting!
