September 13th - A Day To Remember

September 13th is National Celiac Disease Awareness Day. Sept. 13th?? Why this date? After doing a little research, I discovered that it's the birthdate of a very special man who brought awareness of celiac disease back in 1888.

Sammyyyy!   Thank u Dr. Gee!

Dr. Gee was a British physician who in 1888, published the first modern description of the clinical picture of celiac disease and is credited with being the first to identify the link between celiac disease and diet.

"If the patient can be cured at all,
it must be by means of diet."
- Dr. Samuel Gee

With it being National Celiac Disease Awareness Day, let's honor Dr. Gee and his hard work by raising awareness and helping others get diagnosed!  It's a simple blood test, tell your friends about it - do you have a friend that has a child that isn't gaining weight, has stomach issues, etc.? Do you know of an adult who has numbness and tingling in their hands and feet, joint pain, headaches, etc.? But still no answers?! Let's help others feel better! Tell them about celiac disease and the multiple symptoms that are associated with it.

Raise Awareness Today and Every Day!
